Detailed Solution

1. The Election Commission of India is an independent constitutional body that announces an upcoming election. It is the constitutional duty of the body to conduct free, fair and regular elections in the country.
2. EVM or Electronic Voting Machine is used for casting votes during elections. It makes the conduct of elections efficient.
3. Constituency is a term used for those particular areas from which representatives are elected to the Lok Sabha or the Vidhan Sabha. Division of the country into distinct territories or constituencies for the purpose of elections is necessary because it allows a much more representative legislative body and makes the administrative process efficient.
4. Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha are elected by the general public for a period of 5 years. They are the legislative bodies at the Centre and State levels. However, it is subject to dissolution before the completion of this period under certain circumstances.
5. Code of Conduct is those norms or guidelines issued before the elections, which are to be compulsorily followed by political parties contesting the elections. It is prescribed by the Election Commission of India and must be mandatorily and strictly followed or face disqualification.
