Lord Dalhousie: The Doctrine of Lapse was developed by India's Governor-General, Lord Dalhousie, to address concerns about Hindu Indian state succession.
Rani Channamma: was a freedom fighter and a revolutionary. She fought with the British empire in order to recover her homeland. She was one of the first women to oppose the British administration.
Sawars: Cavalry and infantry made up the bulk of the Mughal army. Archery and swordsmanship were among the skills they learned. Sawars were trained soldiers on horseback. Because the cavalry dominated the army, the Mughal state did not believe keeping a large, well-trained infantry was necessary.
Seringapatam: Tipu Sultan fought the battle of Seringapatam against the British. With the support of the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Marathas, the British secured a decisive victory over Tipu.
Musket: A musket is a long muzzle-loading gun used by infantry soldiers.
