3) Period of Thomas Munro: Major-General Sir Thomas Munro was a military commander of the East India Company and the governor of the Presidency of Madras from 1819 to 1826.
4) Blue Rebellion: Thousands of ryots in Bengal refused to plant indigo in March 1859, sparking an uprising against indigo cultivation known as the blue revolution or the indigo revolt.
5) The Company got Diwani of Bengal: On August 12, 1765, the Mughal Emperor Shah Alam granted the East India Company the Diwani of Bengal, which gave them the authority to collect land revenue.
