Detailed Solution

Maximilian Robespierre was the leader of the Jacobin Club.
The Jacobin Club was one of the various political clubs that emerged during the French Revolution to discuss and debate government policies. The Jacobin club, named so because of their meeting place in the former convent of St Jacob, became the most popular political club and was known for contributing to the radicalisation of the revolution. The leader of this club was Maximilian Robespierre. He became the leader of the government and contributed to creating the most violent period of the French Revolution, the Reign of Terror, starting from 1793 till 1794, when he was guillotined.
