Aldehydes and ketones are two different categories for aldehydes. The aldehydes have the ability to diminish Tollen's reagent or Fehling's solution as well as provide a positive iodoform test result. Although the ketones cannot decrease Tollen's reagent or Fehling's solution, they can produce a positive Iodoform test result.
