Detailed Solution

Mehrgarh is a prehistoric site.
Mehrgarh is situated near Bolan Pass. It was probably one of the places where people learnt to grow barley and wheat and rear sheep and goats for the first time. Houses, pottery, animal bones and burial remains have been found at this site. The houses at this site were rectangular and made out of slabs. Mergarh's houses usually consisted of four rooms. One of the chambers could have been used for grain storage. Burial remains at the site indicated that people performed the last rituals of the dead. Archaeologists also found mortar and pestle at this site, indicating that people practised grinding food.
