Detailed Solution

Concept- Milk of sulphur or precipitated sulphur is defined as calcium sulphate. It can be obtained by adding an acid to a solution of calcium pentasulphide (CaS5).
It is prepared by boiling the milk of lime with sulphur, and then the calcium sulphide formed in this way is decomposed by HCl to form a white amorphous precipitate of sulphur.
Milk of sulphur is a non-crystalline solid and white in colour. It is soluble in carbon disulfide. At the moment of heating, it turns into the classic yellow assortment of sulphur, which is used as a part of medicines. It is  majorly used in the treatment of various skin diseases.
