Detailed Solution

Mineral and plant based colors were utilised in Ajanta cave paintings.
The Ajanta Caves, a collection of 30 Buddhist cave constructions in the Aurangabad district of the Indian state of Maharashtra, were hewn out of the rock between the second and around 480 CE. The paintings and rock-cut sculptures found in the caves are some of the best specimens of ancient Indian art. The paintings that use gesture, posture, and form to convey emotions are particularly impressive. Even after 1500 years, the vibrant colors created by plants and minerals are still present. Because the tunnels' interior was dim, most Ajanta paintings were created in the light of torches. Both the Buddha's life and the Jataka stories were represented in these paintings.
