Detailed Solution

Minerals occur in igneous and metamorphic rocks in the veins and lodes. The smaller occurrences are called veins, and the larger occurrences are called lodes. Most of the time, these rocks are formed when the minerals are in the liquid or gaseous state and forced towards the earth's upper surface through cavities. In igneous rocks, the minerals are formed from the magma and in metamorphic rocks, the minerals are formed from the existing rock minerals due to temperature and heat. Thus the fundamental source of all the minerals is the magma found inside the earth.
