Detailed Solution

Mohamad bin Tughlaq shifted his capital from Delhi to Devagiri
To better administer South India, Mohammad-bin-Tughlaq moved his capital from Delhi to Devagiri and forcibly relocated the people. After two years, however, due to Devagiri's lack of water supply, the capital was shifted back to Delhi. From 1325 to 1351, Muhammad ibn Tughluq ruled as the Sultan of Delhi. He chose to shift his capital from Delhi to Daulatabad in 1327 due to two factors: the Mongol invasion and because he was unable to sustain a sizable army. Devagiri's location put him in a more advantageous position to govern both North and South.
