Detailed Solution

Given that, Mohan lent some amount of money at 9% simple interest and an equal amount of money at 10% simple interest each for 2 years an his total interest was Rs. 760.
We know that Simple interest = P×R×T100, where P = principal, T = time, R = rate.
Let the amount lent in each case be Rs. x.
P₁=P₂=x From the given,
R₁=9, R₂=10, T₁=T₂=2
∴ Total Interest=P₁×R₁×T₁100+P₂×R₂×T₂100
760=x×9×2100+x×10×2100
760=18x100+20x100 38x=76000 x=Rs. 2000 Thus, the amount lent is Rs.2000.
Therefore, the correct option is 4.
