Most Indian indentured workers came from present day region of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. These also majorly include workers from Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Punjab. They got into bonded labour in various countries where they were required to work for a specific time. They work as indentured labour on migration because this work gets them well payoff rather than their native country. Indian indentured labour were those who migrated to another country as plantation workers for five years. After the completion of five years, the indentured labourers came back to India.
