Detailed Solution

Most Indian indentured workers came from the present-day regions of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Central India, and Tamil Nadu. The indentured labourers were hired based on a promise that they would work under a contract labourer on their employers' plantation only for five years, and after that tenure, they would be returned to India.
