Detailed Solution

Most of the forests in the Northeastern states belong to the category of Unclassed Forests.
There are three different kinds of forest types in India:-
1)      Reserved Forests are those that are hotspots for that region's wildlife and forestry and are thus reserved. Example - Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir.
2)      Protected Forests are those forests which are less important but important parts of forest land to protect it from depletion. Examples -include Odisha, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Bihar.
3)      Unclassed Forests are those forests left from the above categories and belong to the government and private individuals or communities. Example:- All northeastern states ( like Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur Meghalaya).
