During light reaction of photosynthesis the movement of protons from stroma (Low concentration of protons) to lumen of thylakoid through cytochrome b₆/f complex of thylakoid membrane is driven by solar power and it is uphill transport and active transport. Cytochrome b₆/f complex acts as proton pump.
