The Wildlife Protection Act was implemented in 1972. The Indian Wildlife Act was enacted in 1972 to protect wild plant and animal species. Under this law, hunting, gathering, and harming animals are strictly prohibited. Collectively the mandatory limitation of harvesting of forest resources. This law protects wild animals, birds, and plant species in the country to ensure environmental safety. Among the alternatives, the law imposes restrictions on observing several animal species. The law was last changed in 2006. The Associate Degree Amendment Bill was introduced in the Rajya Sabha in 2013 and discussed in a Standing Committee; however, it was withdrawn in 2015. This law provides for the protection of an animal species included in The List. Birds and plants and establishing a network of ecologically important protected areas within the country.
