The longest pipeline connects Hazira to Jagdishpur.
Hazira is in Gujarat state, and Jagdishpur is in Uttar Pradesh. It is the Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur (HBJ) gas pipeline. It is the world's largest pipeline and the longest underground pipeline. It is about 2300 kilometres in length. It also connects Vijaipur (Madhya Pradesh), Kota (Rajasthan) and Shahjahanpur and Babrala (Uttar Pradesh). It was commissioned in 1987 after the incorporation of the Gas Authority of India (GAIL) Limited to supply gas for fertilizer plants in India. It is the first cross-state gas pipeline in India.
