Pipeline transportation is unaffected by traffic congestion or weather hazards because it functions deep under the soil. It provides for a continuous flow of products while reducing the number of accidents caused by tankers on roads, trains on tracks, and ships on the water. It can be built in locations where it is difficult to build roads or railway lines and where water is scarce.
