My JEE Advanced result wasn't what I expected. How do I cope and what are my next steps?

• Perspective is Key: Remember that JEE Advanced is just one exam. It does not define your worth, intelligence, or future potential. There are many paths to a successful and fulfilling career, even in engineering and technology.
• Analyze, Don't Just Criticize: Once you feel a bit calmer, try to objectively analyze your performance if possible (e.g., which areas were weaker, what went wrong in your strategy). This is for learning, not for self-blame.
• Explore Other Options Based on JEE Main: If you have a good JEE Main score, you likely have excellent options for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JoSAA counselling will open up these avenues. These are premier institutions offering quality education.
• Consider Other Reputable Institutions: Look into other well-regarded engineering colleges that might have different admission criteria or conduct their own entrance exams (e.g., BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE, state-level CETs, private university exams).
