NADP reductase enzyme is located on stroma side of thylakoid membrane. This enzyme plays a crucial role in the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis, specifically during the last step of the photosystem I (PSI) electron transport chain. At the end of the non-cyclic electron transport chain in PSI, the electrons are used to reduce NADP+ (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) to NADPH. This reduction reaction is catalyzed by the enzyme NADP reductase, which transfers high-energy electrons to NADP+ to form NADPH.
