Detailed Solution

Nagabhata was a Pratihara king. From Ujjain, he initially held power over the Avanti region, and it's possible that he later expanded it to include parts of modern-day Gujarat and Rajasthan. He is thought to have conquered the Sindh-based Arab invaders, but Dantidurga, the Rashtrakuta king, ultimately triumphed. The Gwalior inscription of his descendent Mihira Bhoja names Nagabhata as the creator of the imperial Pratihara dynasty. It is unknown on what day Nagabhata officially became king. However, it is known that Vatsaraja, his grand-nephew, ruled Avanti from 783–784 CE. Assuming 25 years for each generation, Nagabhata can be presumed to have ascended the throne around 730 CE.
