Detailed Solution

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is built on the Krishna river.
The Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is a masonry dam that spreads over the Krishna River at Nagarjuna Sagar, straddling the border between Telangana's Nalgonda district and Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district. The dam serves the neighbourhoods of Nalgonda, Suryapet, Krishna, NTR, Bapatla, Eluru, Palnadu, Khammam, West Godavari, Guntur, and Prakasam with irrigation water and energy generation. The dam is 490 feet tall, with 26 floodgates that are 42 feet (13 metres) wide and 45 feet (14 metres) tall. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana jointly manage it.
