A reduction in the number of platelets (thrombocytopenia) can lead to a clotting disorder and excessive loss of blood from the body. In this condition, the patient may experience spontaneous bleeding and excessive bleeding from cuts and injuries. When a blood vessel is injured, platelets become activated and stick to the injured area. They then release chemicals that attract other platelets and begin to form a clot. This process helps to stop the bleeding by forming a physical barrier at the site of injury. It is also important to note that other factors, like clotting factor deficiency (as
in haemophilia), can also lead to excessive loss of blood from the body. 

(1) The reduction in the number of erythrocytes or a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin in the blood is known as anemia. It can lead to fatigue, weakness, paleness and shortness of breath.

(2) The reduction in the number of leucocytes (leucopenia) can weaken the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections. 

(3) A decrease in the number of neutrophils (neutropenia) can also weaken the immune system and increase the risk of infections.
