Detailed Solution

Myopia eye defect is due to the excessive curvature of the eye lens and elongation of the eyeball.
Myopia is the defect in which a person cannot see distant objects clearly but can see nearby objects clearly. In myopia, the curvature of the eye lens increases, thereby decreasing the focal length. Elongation of the eyeball also can be the reason for myopia. Due to this, light rays coming from infinity converge in front of the retina instead of on the retina. A concave lens is used to correct this defect.
