Detailed Solution

Visakhapatnam Port is the deepest port in India. With a natural depth of more than 16.5 metres, Visakhapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh is India's deepest port. The Visakhapatnam Port Trust, which operates the Vizag port, launched it on December 19, 1933, and Lord Willingdon served as its first governor. The Major Port Trusts Act of 1963 gave the Visakhapatnam Port Trust authority to manage the port. The port has 24 berths and receives around 65 million tonnes of cargo for a year alone.
