Bengal Gazette was the first weekly magazine published by Gangadhar Bhattacharya in India.
Bengal Gazette is an English weekly newspaper established by James Augustus Hickey in 1780. Hickey was the editor of this magazine and also published articles written by British officers that Warren Hastings did not like. Hastings then persecuted Hickey to stop publishing the Bengal Gazette. After this, the Bengal Gazette was again started by Gangadhar Bhattacharya, who was somehow related to Raja Rammohan Roy.
