Detailed Solution

The highest mountain marked in the figure is Anai Mudi, in the range of Western Ghats
The Anai Mudi peak, with an average elevation of 2695 meters, is the highest in the Western Ghats. It is known as  Nilgiris, the meeting place of the Eastern and Western Ghats in the southern states. Popularly called Sahyadri in the northern parts, the Western Ghats is a continuous chain of mountains bordering the west coast. Most of the peninsular rivers originate in these mountains, including the Krishna, Godavari, and Tungabhadra rivers. The Anamudi peak is the Everest of South India.
