The struggle against apartheid policy had fought under the banner of the African National Congress party.
Apartheid was an inhumane system of racial discrimination that existed in the white racist governed South Africa. The blacks had to use separate public toilets, buses, trains, libraries, schools, etc. They couldn’t go to the same church as the whites. They couldn’t work in areas occupied by whites without special permits. The struggle against apartheid had headed by African National Congress (ANC). It was an umbrella political organisation. It included other parties like the workers’ union and the communist party. Several sensitive whites who realised the inhumanity of the racist government joined ANC. Nelson Mandela was an essential leader of the ANC. As a result, the African National Congress gathered global support against apartheid. It led to the worldwide isolation of the racist government of South Africa.
