Parenchyma tissue is present in almost all soft parts of plants such as cortex, pith, mesophyll, and leaf base.

Parenchyma forms the bulk of ground tissue in stems, roots, leaves, and fruits.

Region in plant	Presence and function of parenchyma
Cortex of stems and roots	Stores food and helps in transport between epidermis and vascular tissues.
Pith (center region of stem)	Contains large living parenchyma cells that store nutrients and water.
Mesophyll of leaves	Made of chlorenchyma (parenchyma with chloroplasts) for photosynthesis.
Xylem and phloem parenchyma	Stores food and helps in side transport within vascular bundles.
Fruit and seed pulp	Acts as storage tissue for starch and water.
