Detailed Solution

Prussia led to the unification of Germany. Prussia, the easternmost state of the German confederation, had attempted unification in 1848 but was unsuccessful because of the foiled practice of Austrian power, which wanted control in Germany. The new appointee Otto Von Bismarck, Prime Minister Of Prussia, had turned the table of the political situation in favour of Prussia. He was a very ambitious man and transformed his army and made them a professional fighting force. The seven-year war was a heavy blow to Austria and its allies. This was a remarkable victory which allowed Prussia to lay the foundations of the empire of Germany.
