Detailed Solution

Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world that is marked on the map. It is located between Nepal and India. It is in the Kanchenjunga Himal region of the Himalayas, bounded on the west by the Tamur River, on the north by the Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La, and on the east by the Teesta River. It was considered the highest mountain peak on the globe until 1852. Later, in 1849, the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India confirmed that the highest mountain was Peak XV (now known as Everest) based on additional calculations and measurements. Kanchenjunga was officially declared the third highest peak in the year 1856.
