Mahatma Gandhi was the writer of the book 'Hind Swaraj'.
In his well-known book Hind Swaraj (1909), Gandhiji wrote that Indian cooperation was vital in establishing British authority in India and was the only reason it lasted. British rule in India would end in a year if Indians failed to cooperate, and swaraj would then take over. Gandhi suggested that the movement should develop gradually. The government-awarded titles should be renounced, and the military, police, courts, legislative bodies, educational institutions, and foreign products should all be boycotted. A complete civil disobedience campaign would be initiated if the government utilised repression. Mahatma Gandhi and Shaukat Ali travelled widely throughout the summer of 1920, enlisting the public's support for the cause.
