Detailed Solution

Narmada Bachao Andolan is a movement created against the Government.
The goal of the Government was to dam the river. The Government also sought to build a dam over the river to produce energy and relocate residents from the area to other locations. However, locals were opposed to the construction of river dams and the eviction of residents from that area.
To save the Narmada river, people organised into organisations and began the Narmada Bachao Andolan. They fought to protect the Narmada river from the Government because it planned to build a dam across it and relocate residents of the village side of the river. People rejected this. Therefore they began the Narmada Bachao Andolan.
