Detailed Solution

Concept- To solve this question, we need to understand the concept of positive and negative integers. A Positive Integer is one which lies to the right of zero on the number line, for example, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6… are all positive Integers, whereas, a “Negative integer” is one which lies to the left of zero on the number line, for example, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6… are all negative integers.
Also, we know that, multiplying a positive number with a negative number, we obtain a negative number in result, while multiplying a negative number with a negative number, we obtain a positive number in result.
We will use these above-mentioned concepts to obtain our desired answer.
Given, to find out the negative of a negative integer.
So, let us assume a negative number (-10).
Negative of (-10) can be represented as -(-10), i.e.,
-(-10)=[(-1)×(-10)]
-(-10)=10[Multiplying a negative number with a negative number, we obtain a positive number in result]
Thus, generalising the above example, the negative of a negative integer is a positive number.
Hence, the correct answer is option 1.
