produced by a concave mirror then the nature of the image will be real and inverted. The ratio of the height of an image to the height of object is known as linear magnification. The size of the image relative to the object is called linear magnification.

magnification = \frac{height of the image}{height of object}

If the magnification has a plus sign, then the image is virtual and erect; if the magnification of negative sign, then the image is real and inverted.
