Detailed Solution

Nizam-ul-Mulk Asaf Jah was a powerful official at the court of the Mughal Emperor Farrukh Siyar.
In addition to being the creator of the kingdom of Hyderabad, Asaf Jah was one of the most powerful officials at the court of the Mughal Emperor Farrukh Siyar. After first being granted the governorship of Awadh, he was handed command of the Deccan. Hence Asaf Jah held complete control over the fiscal and political administration of the Deccan provinces. By capitalising on the turmoil there and the rivalries among the court nobility, he gained power and took over the Deccan. Jagirs were awarded, and mansabdars were chosen by him. Despite being the Mughal emperor's servant, he used his authority without any interference or request for advice from Delhi.
