Detailed Solution

Nobels were appointed as governors by the Mughals to control provinces.
The Mughal Empire had a vast amount of land to rule and control, which was impossible for a single person to do. Hence Mughals depended on nobles for better administration and control over provinces. These nobles were appointed governors of the provinces like Bengal, Hyderabad Awadh etc. During the early years of the Mughal Empire, these nobles were the governors who acted as the king's subordinates. However, Aurangzeb's death in 1707 weakened the Mughal Empire. Later, it broke away into various provinces under these governors who declared themselves independent rulers with powerful administration.
