PS I participates in both non-cyclic and cyclic photophosphorylation. PS II do not participate in cyclic electron transport as stroma lamella lack PS II. Proton accumulation towards lumen of thylakoid creates disturbance in concentration gradient of H+. This results in pumping out of protons from lumen to stroma through ATP synthase to achieve equilibrium. It happens in both cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation.
