Normally our urine does not contain glucose because

Glucose is filtered during glomerular filtration but all of it is reabsorbed in the PCT and hence glucose is not normally present in our urine. In case of diabetes mellitus, as the blood glucose levels are high, large amounts of glucose are filtered all of which cannot be reabsorbed and hence glucose appears in urine.
