Detailed Solution

Northern black polished ware is a fine pottery. The Iron Age flourished in India during the transition to the Vedic age after the Indus valley or Harappan civilization collapsed the bronze age with it. The period 1500 B.C.- 600 B.C. marks this period. The northern black polished ware came in the urban iron age period (700 B.C.-200 B.C.). It's a fine specimen of pottery with a glossy surface and black colour. Its making flourished under the reign of Ashoka. Elites used these potteries as their physical attributes were mesmerising. It was found in Taxila, Magalkot and Amravati, etc.
