It is given that boys and girls in the class are in the ratio 7:5. And the number of boys in the class is 8 more than the number of girls.
Let us assume that the number of boys in the class is 7x and the number of girls is 5x.
Using another condition, we can form an equation as follows,
7x5x=8
2x=8 2x 2 = 8 2 x=4
So, the number of boys is 7x ,
7×4=28 .
The number of girls is 5x ,
5×4=20
So, the total strength of the class will be the sum of the total boys and girls i.e., 28+20=48 .
