Number of ova formed from each primary oocyte

Each primary oocyte undergoes meiosis I to produce one secondary oocyte and the first polar body. The secondary oocyte undergoes meiosis II to produce one ovum and the second polar body. Hence, each primary oocyte produces only one ovum.
