Detailed Solution

Nur Jahan was Jahangir’s wife and Mehrunnisa was her real name. Mehrunnisa was given the title of Nur Jahan when she wed Jahangir in 1611. She was a devoted and helpful spouse to her husband, Jahangir. The emperor loved his wife and listened carefully to all of her counsel for the wellbeing of the court and their subjects. Jahangir honoured her by having silver coins produced with the inscription "struck in the name of Queen Begum, Nur Jahan" on one side and his titles on the other. According to some historians, Nur Jahan oversaw the court in some ways more effectively than Jahangir.
