Ovary is the female primary sex organ. The arrangement of layers in the human ovary is typically as follows:

• Germinal epithelium: The outermost layer of the ovary is the germinal epithelium. This is a layer of simple squamous or cuboidal epithelial cells that covers the surface of the ovary.
• Tunica albuginea: Beneath the germinal epithelium, there is a dense layer of connective tissue called the tunica albuginea. This layer provides structural support to the ovary.
• Ovarian cortex: Below the tunica albuginea is the ovarian cortex. The ovarian cortex contains ovarian follicles, which consist of developing oocytes (eggs) surrounded by supporting cells. This is where oocyte development and maturation occur.
• Ovarian medulla: The innermost part of the ovary is the ovarian medulla. It contains blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and nerves that supply the ovary. It also houses connective tissue and some larger blood vessels.
