Following are a few characteristics of the Alluvial soil:
1)      It is the most fertile soil among all other types.
2)      It consists of silt, sand and clay.
3)      It is further divided into two different kinds:
Bhanger- old alluvial, has a higher concentration of kankar and is less fertile.
On the other hand, Khadar - a new alluvial- is more fine and fertile. Found in - The northern plains, deltas of the Godavari, Kaveri, Mahanadi and Krishna river
