On 1 October 1953, the new state of Andhra Pradesh came into being.
The new state of Andhra Pradesh was created on October 1, 1953. To safeguard the interests of Telugu speakers, a Veteran Gandhian named Potti Sriramulu went on a hunger strike in October 1952. The fast gained a lot of support as it continued. In several towns, there were bandhs and hartals. Potti Sriramulu died fifty-eight days into his fast on December 15, 1952. The central government was compelled to comply with the demand because of how extensive and ferocious the protests were. Other language groups pressed for the establishment of their independent states following the founding of Andhra.
