On December 15 1952, fifty-eight days into his fast, Potti Sriramulu died.
To safeguard Telugu speakers' interests, a Gandhian named Potti Sriramulu ventured on a hunger strike in October 1952. The fast gained a lot of support as it continued. In numerous towns, hartals and bandhs were seen. Potti Sriramulu died fifty-eight days into his fast on December 15, 1952. According to a newspaper, the news of Sriramulu's death wrapped all Andhra in turmoil. The central government was compelled to relent on demand because of the extensive and ferocious protests. As a result, the newly created state of Andhra, later known as Andhra Pradesh, was established on October 1, 1953.
