Detailed Solution

On passing electricity through copper sulphate solution, copper is formed at the cathode.
When current passes through copper sulfate solution, copper ions give their electrons at the anode, travel to the cathode, and get deposited into it.
Copper is a positively charged ion; at the cathode, it gains free electrons and gets deposited into it. The Cathode is the positive or oxidising electrode, which receives electrons from the external circuit and reduces them during the electrolysis process.
Electroplating - WikipediaThe negative or reducing electrode that transfers electrons to the external circuit and is oxidised during an electrolyte process is known as the anode.
