Detailed Solution

On the maternal side, Mughals were the descendants of Genghis khan.
The Mughals came from two renowned royal lineages. They were descended from Genghis Khan, the Mongol emperor who ruled over portions of China and Central Asia, on their mother's side. They were Timur's direct descendants from their father, who ruled Iran, Iraq, and modern-day Turkey. The Mughals, however, disliked the terms "Mughal" or "Mongol." It was because Genghis Khan's name was linked to the mass killing of numerous people. It was also connected to their rival Mongols, the Uzbeks.
