The tapered section of each fallopian tube, known as the infundibulum, is situated near the ovary but remains connected to the pelvic cavity. It terminates with a border of finger-like extensions referred to as fimbriae, with one of them being affixed to the outer edge of the ovary. From the infundibulum, the uterine tube extends inward and eventually downward, linking to the upper lateral corner of the uterus.
